Technology is advancing everyday and schools are slowly inculcating digital lessons for students. This is something that we should all start to learn and adapt to our everyday lives. Stopping kids from using is no longer an option as we cannot deny that they will need that. Thus, we should learn to set boundaries and communicate with them to reach a mutual balance between both.
So here are some ways to help:
A) Set up a study station
Set up the homework station in a space with sufficient lighting.
Create a place that makes them happy and that is mostly free of distraction.
Avoid studying on the bed.
Keep a pen, pencil, calculator, notebook, water, and other materials handy.
B) Screen Approved Places
Follow the family’s tech plan.
It’s a good idea to keep screens out of bedrooms and bathrooms!
If the surroundings are busy and noisy, allow them to use headphones to focus.
C) One Screen Is Enoughs
Enforce the one-screen rule.
It will help them to stay focused and to stop checking other devices for notifications and texts.
Use a regular calculator if needed.
D) Limit the amount of tabs
The Internet is a rabbit hole! Avoid going down it by keeping only five tabs or less open at one time.
Close all tabs to games, social media, and the news while doing homework.
E) Take occasional breaks
Our body and mind requires periodic breaks so that the brains function better.
As the Screens often keep your child from moving and experiencing the real world!
Encourage them to get up and stretch and go on a walk outside.
